The Rocky Point Sailing Association is committed to teaching the joys of sailing to those of all ages.

We are a non-profit organization which strives to provide safe, inclusive, fun, and educational marine activities for the Tri-Cities and beyond. RPSA is looking for CANSail Instructors with a passion for sailing, and the drive to share that passion with the community.

 The Rocky Point Sailing Association is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head Race Team Coach for the Fall 2026 season. 

In this leadership role, you will oversee the development of our regional race team while mentoring a team of 1–2 assistant race coaches. Our training fleet includes Club 420s, ILCA (Laser) dinghies, and Optimists, with athletes training toward local and regional competition. 

The team competes at two major fall regattas: 

  • Pumpkin Bowl Regatta – West Vancouver Yacht Club 
  • Bluenose Regatta – Kitsilano Yacht Club 

Practice Schedule 

  • Tuesday evenings 
  • Sunday afternoons 

The position includes 9 base hours per week, with opportunities to increase hours through club maintenance projects, adult learn-to-sail programming and regatta coaching. 

Qualifications 

  • Trained or Certified CANSail Instructor in good standing with Sail Canada 
  • Valid instructor prerequisites and certifications 
  • Previous racing and race coaching experience preferred 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills 
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
