UPCOMING EVENTS: Boat Out Day & AGM

Hey Everybody!

It is that time of year again when we must prepare our boats for winter and wrap up club operations for the year.

Boat Out Day

November 24th 10 AM – 3 PM

This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow sailors and participate in the takedown and storage of our fleet. Food will be provided around 2 PM for all attendants. Please fill out the following so we can ensure there is enough servings for lunch: https://forms.office.com/r/uQ7AVwmUTa.

No experience is necessary, and we encourage anyone who has had contact with the club through classes, membership, or social following to come on out!

Annual General Meeting

November 24th 3 PM

This meeting is to finalize voting on the 2025 executive members and provide updates on the club’s operations from 2024.

We encourage all members to join us for this, and anyone interested in club operations is welcome to join.

In preparation for the AGM, we will be sending out an update on the nominated board members and an online voting form in the upcoming weeks so that we can get the votes in and tally them before the meeting, making the meeting much smoother.

Positions Needed & Nominations:

We are still looking for nominations for the following positions:

OMBH Representatives (x2)

OMBH Board Position

These positions are crucial to club operations and are a great way to be more involved in the club!

If you or anyone you know is interested in these positions or being nominated for any positions, please email executive@rpsa.ca to inquire.

We hope to see you all at both of these events to connect and have some fun!

Sincerely,

RPSA Executive

Sailing Director updates: Transition of Roles

Joey has decided to move on to a new chapter in his career and has submitted his resignation as Sailing Director. Joey has put in many hours of hard work into the club and brought a fresh set of new ideas and perspectives to RPSA. Not only has he helped with club operations he also was crucial in helping set up BC Summer Games and ensure they went off without a hitch! We are sad to see him go and wish him the best in his next chapter.

We are excited to announce that Nicole is stepping up into the interim Sailing Director role!

In case you haven’t run into her on the docks or around the boathouse, Nicole has been a staple around the club for the last few years and was in the Head Coach position for the summer ensuring the on the water experience for programs has gone smoothly. She has spent her life participating in programs, starting in one of our Wetfeet programs and building her sailing experience throughout the years.

With the experience she has and the knowledge of RPSA’s culture and operations we are very excited to see her taking the operations on for Fall and Winter!
