Attached are the results of the 2013 Rocky Point Regatta for all scored classes. Thanks to all who participated and helped with the regatta. See you next year!
It has been a week since Jim left for Windsor and now that things have finally started to calm down, I thought I should introduce myself for those of you who do not know me yet.
Its that time of year again and out annual regatta is fast approaching. The regatta will take place on Saturday, September 14th and Sunday, September 15th on the Burrard Inlet near Rocky Point Park in Port Moody. Attached is the official Notice of Race and the Registration form for competitors in the regatta. Hope to see you all there!
Jim Anderson, long time sail director and coach, will be leaving RPSA to pursue new endeavours in Ontario. Head Coach Greg Bower will assume the role of sail director. Greg has instructed at RPSA for seven years and has a wealth of program management and coaching experience. Program enquiries should be directed to Greg via firstname.lastname@example.org
RPSA is recruiting volunteers for our annual regatta September 14-15! The regatta is a part of the BC Sailing Circuit and hosts approximately 100 sailors from around the province. This is a great opportunity to be a part of the boating community or to learn more about the sport of sailing and our club. Everyone is welcome!
Our beginner adult sailing program starts September 7th. No sailing experience required. Participants will learn basic helming skills such as steering, points of sail, docking, rigging, upwind & downwind sailing and tacking in addition to boat safety, sail theory and knots. All participants will be sailing a 420, a 13ft sloop-rigged dinghy, perfect for learning and a great precursor to keel boat sailing and club membership.
This one week program is designed for girls only aged 7 to 10. The program is similar to Junior Sailing, however it places an emphasis on encouraging the participation of younger girls in sailing and physical activity.
July 15-19, Aug 5-9
